Bespoke Display Cases and Presentation Solutions in London

Some objects cannot simply be framed. A piece of studio ceramic, a first edition, a textile, a sculpture: each needs a solution built around its own shape, weight and fragility.

Campbell’s of London has designed and made bespoke display cases, pedestals and presentation solutions from our South Kensington workshop since 1966, using the same conservation standards, materials and glazing as our museum-grade framing.

Custom Display Cases

Made-to-measure cases in minimalist acrylic or elegant wooden cabinets, tailored to your object’s size, shape and style. Suitable for sculpture, ceramics, delicate textiles, rare books and memorabilia.

Cases are built with sealed construction where dust and airborne contaminants are a concern, internal mounts where the object needs support, and concealed fixings so nothing distracts from the piece itself.

Glass Casings and Enclosures

Custom glass and acrylic enclosures for delicate artefacts, rare books and treasured memorabilia. Fully transparent viewing with protection from dust, light and handling.

Where an object is sensitive to light, we specify the same UV-filtering and museum-grade glazing we use for conservation framing, blocking 92–99% of ultraviolet light while reducing reflection to under 1.5%, so the object is protected without the glass getting in the way.

Pedestals and Podiums

Custom-designed pedestals and podiums crafted from materials including marble, granite and stainless steel. Made to a specific height and footprint, so a sculpture sits at the right eye level and the base supports the piece without competing with it.

Suitable for sculpture display in private homes, galleries and commercial spaces, as well as podiums for public speaking and presentation.

Wall-Mounted Displays

Floating shelves, gallery-style grids and wall-mounted cases, for pieces that need to be seen but not handled. A practical option where floor space is limited, or where a collection needs to read as a group rather than a set of separate objects.

Wall-mounted solutions suit paintings, photographs and other two-dimensional work as well as smaller three-dimensional pieces.

Metal Cases and Frames

Custom cases and frames in brushed aluminium, blackened steel and aged iron, made by our metalwork specialists. Suited to objects that call for an industrial or contemporary setting, and to pieces that need robust structural support as well as protection.

Interactive and Multimedia Displays

Where a display needs to do more than hold an object, we can incorporate digital screens, interactive touch panels and audio-visual elements. Most often specified for exhibitions, museum installations and corporate spaces where the story around the object matters as much as the object itself.

What We Are Asked to Display

  • Sculpture and ceramics: from small studio pieces to larger works
  • Rare books and documents: protected from dust, light and handling
  • Textiles: supported so the material carries no weight in the wrong place
  • Collectables and memorabilia: cased with UV-filtering glazing to slow fading
  • Paintings and photographs: wall-mounted or cased depending on the setting

If your object is not listed, send photographs and dimensions and we will tell you what is possible.

Conservation-Grade Protection

A display case is not only a way of showing something. It is also a microclimate around it.

Where an object is sensitive to light, glazing choice slows fading and colour loss. Where it is sensitive to dust or handling, the case is sealed. Where it needs support, an archival mount does that work rather than the object itself.

The same principles that govern our restoration work apply here. Materials are chosen to be stable, inert and safe in long-term contact with the piece, to British Standards and museum guidelines.

How It Works

  1. Consultation. Bring the object to our studio, or send photographs and dimensions.
  2. Assessment. We consider material, weight, fragility and where the piece will live.
  3. Design. Materials, dimensions, glazing and mounting are agreed with you.
  4. Written quotation. Provided before any work begins.
  5. Making. Built by hand in our South Kensington workshop.
  6. Collection or delivery. Collect from the studio, or we can arrange delivery.

Who We Work With

Private collectors, interior designers and commercial clients. Most commissions are one-off pieces built for a single object or a single space.

Cost and Timescales

Cost depends on size, materials, glazing specification and complexity. A simple acrylic case is a very different job from a sealed, museum-glazed cabinet on a marble pedestal, so every commission is quoted individually.

Timescales vary with the piece. We confirm a realistic date once the design is agreed.
