Description
Boscoe Holder, a self taught artist, was known for the speed at which he could render a likeness and capture a model’s very essence. It is as if his brush danced across the canvas. He is known for distinct brushstrokes that communicate, at once, a sense of urgency that he simply has to find the person in the paint. It is said that the vibrant colour and energy of his dance company costumes could be found in his paintings and that his choreographed numbers were the very same colours and rich Caribbean depictions come to life before the audience’s very eyes.
